This animation is an approximation of the colours / effect created by the Telstar lava lamp
The actual effect is far better and more varied than this. Basically the lava is heated by a bulb in the lamp base until it rises in blobs.
As the lava rises it cools which causes it to fall back to the bottom where it rejoins the main lava pool. The Cycle continues, creating the unique lava lamp effect
